The 22-year-old midfielder put the ball into the net again after 3 minutes, this time also from Salah's creation.

The hosts went to great lengths to help Leicester comeback in the game, but Alexander-Arnold scored a superb goal after Salah set up the ball from a free-kick in the 71st minute.

Liverpool recorded their seventh consecutive league victory while Leicester have picked up just two points from their last four games.

With a trip to Newcastle United and a home game against West Ham United remaining, time is running out for 2016 champions Leicester to retain their place in the Premier League.

According to the Squaka network of football statistics, the treble made by Salah (for the first time in his career in one match) made him the second player after Bukayo Saka, the star of Arsenal, who scores 10 goals and assists at least 10 goals in the Premier League this season.

Liverpool reported that Salah raised his tally with the team to 71 assists in all games, including 57 assists in the Premier League only, to surpass Manchester United's top scorer Eric Cantona by one goal.
