The races were supposed to run an hour apart but lightning caused the hurdles race to be delayed by half an hour in Baton Rouge.

"God hears prayer and I prayed for there to be a break. Getting the extra 30 minutes was nice," Wilson said, according to Wholehogsports.com.

"I have a lot to be happy about, so I feel good," Wilson said.

In the attempt, she ran the plain race in 49.40, which was then a personal best. The 22-year-old Wilson has now run four straight 400m races in under 50 seconds.

An hour later, she ran the 400m hurdles in 53.28. The two time comibinated is the fastest anyone has done in a day.

In the 400m race, she started pulling away properly at 250 meters and was superior across the finish line, setting a new college record.

"Let's congratulate this queen"

She is 17th fastest runner of all time in the 400 meters and 24th in the 400 meter hurdles.

Wilson is already faster than the legendary Allyson Felix, seven Olympic golds and 14 World Championship golds, in the 400 meters (she had a best of 49.26) and is being acclaimed.

"Let's congratulate this queen in her own light. She's taking this to her own heights," Felix wrote on Instagram.

In the triple jump, Jamaican Jaydon Hibbert set the U20 world record by jumping 17.87.
