Until Sunday, May 14, 2023, Linköping and Norrköping had never met in a women's all-Swedish derby.

This year, both teams are in Damallsvenskan – and now they have been pitted against each other.

7,804 spectators

It was noticeable.

7,804 people had found their way to the festival at Bilbörsen arena in Linköping in the scorching May heat.

Own goal made it 1–0

Barely 20 minutes into the game, the home supporters had to air their throats and cheer at the 1-0.

A finely struck corner hit a "Beijing" player in the head and the home team had taken the lead thanks to an own goal.

Zomers hit the bar

Newcomer Norrköping, who started the women's allsvenskan in a solid way, did not lack chances to equalize in the Östgötaderbyt.

Just a minute after Linköping's 1–0, "Beijing's" Dilja Zomers nodded in the crossbar.

1–1 in rib hits

A quarter of an hour later, it was the home team's turn to hit the crossbar.

1–1 in rib hits, but 1–0 to Linköping after the first 45.

Andersson saved at the cross

Both teams were offered opportunities in the second act as well and the closest to an equaliser was Norrköping's captain My Cato who tried to outsmart Linköping goalkeeper Cajsa Andersson from distance. Andersson, on the other hand, managed to take a few steps back and, up at the cross, tipped the ball to the corner.

Close for "Beijing", but closer the away team did not come.

Linköping held off, won 1–0 and won the historic derby.
