Tonight, Sweden plays its World Cup opener against Germany. They have not won a medal since the gold in Denmark in 2018 and that streak is now aimed at breaking.

"We can't look at anything other than playing the last game and trying to win it. That's always the goal. We have full respect for the opposition and that it takes a lot, but we are here to bring the gold home to Stockholm. There's no question about it," says head coach Sam Hallam, who is making his first World Cup.

Team captain Jakob Silfverberg is on the same track when it comes to goals.

"Anything but gold feels very strange. I really think we have that team. We have a base that is incredibly strong and then we also have the tip that is needed. I really think there is potential.

Henrik Tömmernes comes in with good confidence after winning the championship in Switzerland.

"Above all, that's what you're trying to contribute. The reason I jumped on this train is because you feel that confidence. I've been to a couple of tournaments where we haven't gone all the way," he says.
