The AFP news agency reported on Tuesday that there will be no continuation for Lionel Messi at Paris Saint-Germain but that the superstar will play in Saudi Arabia next season.

The information was denied by the 35-year-old's father and agent Jorge Messi in a statement.

"We have absolutely not agreed with any club for next season. The decision will not be made before Lionel finishes the league play with PSG. Nothing is signed, agreed or verbally agreed. It's just fake news taking advantage of Leo's name," Messi said in a statement on social media.

"There are always rumors"

Lionel Messi has an expiring deal with Paris Saint-Germain who commented on the reports of a move to Saudi Arabia with the Argentine remaining under contract until June 30, when his contract with the French club expires.

"There are always rumors and many people use the name Lionel to become famous, but the truth is only one and we can assure that there is no agreement with anyone," writes Jorge Messi.
