It was after yesterday's 1–1 match between Uppsala and Djurgården that the former issued a press release that head coach Jonas Valfridsson and assistant coach Rikard Östergren had chosen to resign due to personal reasons.

"It came as a shock. We found out they were leaving after the game. It is a big disappointment for me and many other players in the team, says a player who chooses to remain anonymous.

"I think it's badly managed.

According to UNT, the coaching duo may leave, as there is dissatisfaction from the club management about the players' work environment.

"It's speculation"

But at club manager Linn Andersson, it sounds different.

"That's not something I can confirm. It's speculation from their side," she told SVT Sport.

Have you received indications that this would happen?

"No, it hasn't been a long process. Everything has happened very suddenly.

What do you have to say about players being disappointed and shocked by the news?

"You can understand that. It is their closest leaders who have quickly left. We are also surprised by the quick approach. I fully understand that their everyday lives are being disrupted.

Meeting this afternoon

Do you feel that you could have acted differently?

"Purely spontaneously, no. Now things have moved very fast. We had two employees with long and secure contracts who chose to move on.

The player that SVT Sport has been in contact with does not know why the coaches are leaving Uppsala.

"From a player point of view, we wouldn't have wanted our coaches to disappear. There was a lot of confidence in our coaches in the team," she says.

According to Aftonbladet, the players in Uppsala are planning a strike, something that is denied by Linn Andersson.

On Friday, a meeting will be held between players and leaders of the club to sort out the situation. For the time being, 22-year-old Julius Brekkan, former sporting director, is leading the team.

SVT Sport has sought Jonas Valfridsson and Rikard Östergren.
