Talents Lucas Raymond and Leo Carlsson on the power play. That was Sweden's recipe for victory when the Czech Hockey Games began in Gothenburg on Thursday.

Detroit Red Wings player Raymond made his first appearance on the senior national team and he opened the scoring with a neat shot into the cross in numerical advantage with just over five minutes played.

It was the only goal of the game until the 53rd minute when it was time for Raymond again. Then beautifully played by Örebro's giant talent Leo Carlsson who is expected to go high in the draft this summer.

Raymond is highly praised by SVT expert Mikael Renberg.

"He is a player who is already very good and maybe the best offensive player this team has. He will be very important in the World Cup," he said.

Sweden punctuated the game through Alexander Nylander in the empty bag with a couple of minutes left to play.

For Switzerland, the talent Lian Bichsel, who played in Leksand this past season, was injured in the first period. He was led off the ice after a close fight with Linus Johansson.

The tournament continues with matches against the Czech Republic and Finland in Brno this weekend. Then the World Cup begins with a match against Germany on Friday next week.
