The finalists for the EPCR Player of the Year award are known. Two Frenchmen are among the selected: Stade Toulousain scrum-half Antoine Dupont and La Rochelle third line Grégory Alldritt. The winner will be known after the Leinster-La Rochelle Champions Cup final on May 20.

La Rochelle third row Gregory Alldritt and Toulouse scrum-half Antoine Dupont are along with three Leinster Irishmen among the nominees for the EPCR Player of the Year award, the Champions Cup governing body announced on Wednesday. The captain of La Rochelle, author of a great performance last weekend in the semi-final against the English of Exeter (47-28), is present in the short list for the third consecutive year.

Public and expert votes

Rewarded in 2021, the year of the fifth continental title of Stade Toulousain, Dupont is also part of it despite the elimination of his team in the last four Saturday on the field of Leinster (41-22). Three players from the Irish province, impressive since the start of the competition, have been named: third rows Caelan Doris and Josh van der Flier, winner in 2022, and centre Garry Ringrose.

The EPCR Player of the Year 2023 will be chosen after the final between Leinster and La Rochelle on Saturday 20 May in Dublin, through a process combining online public voting and expert jury.
