More than a month after her ouster as coach of the women's France team, Corinne Diacre has reached an agreement with the French Football Federation. The former technician of Clermont should receive 870,000 euros in compensation according to his lawyer Christophe Ayela.

A financial agreement has been reached between the French Football Federation (FFF) and Corinne Diacre to terminate the contract of the former coach of the women's France team, we learned Tuesday from her lawyer, confirming information from the daily L'Equipe. Deacon, dismissed on March 9 from her position as coach but who was still linked with the FFF until August 2024, will receive 870,000 euros, said her lawyer Christophe Ayela.

This sum corresponds to the emoluments due to him until the end of his contract, plus a further year. It also includes "a percentage" on the premiums provided in case of titles of the Blues at the World Cup this summer and the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024. "Corinne Diacre is relieved by this agreement which allows her to turn the page and leave for new projects in the world of football," said Ayela. "It's an agreement that shows the respect he deserves for his sporting results in the France team."

"Additional repairs"

Corinne Diacre's lawyer stressed that the issue of the discussion had been to obtain "additional reparations for the damage to the image". "That's what took time in the discussion and was achieved," he continued. There was a media campaign by three players and Jean-Michel Aulas (in charge of women's football on the FFF Executive Committee) who condemned her before judging her. It deserved additional repair."

Corinne Diacre, weakened by a sling of three of the best French players (Wendie Renard, Marie-Antoinette Katoto, Kadidiatou Diani), who had questioned, without naming her, her management methods, was dismissed from her duties as coach of the women's France team on March 9. She has been replaced by Hervé Renard, who will be in charge of leading Les Bleues at the next World Cup (20 July-20 August in Australia and New Zealand) and at the Paris Olympics in 2024.

"It's never a simple discussion because it was legally and emotionally complex," Aela said. "But both sides have been loyal. I would like to thank the President of the French Football Federation, Philippe Diallo, who has managed this file with loyalty, moderation and humanity. He showed tact and intelligence."
