The country of women's football dreams of hosting the 2027 World Cup. The United States announced Wednesday, April 20, its joint bid with Mexico to host the Women's World Cup in 2027.

The Mexican and U.S. soccer federations revealed their plans a month before FIFA's May 19 deadline for candidate countries to officially submit bids.

The Women's World Cup was previously held in the United States in 1999 and 2003, but Mexico never hosted the competition.

In addition, these two countries, along with Canada, are already co-hosting the 2026 Men's World Cup.

"The United States has always been a world leader in women's soccer and we would be honored to host the first women's soccer world event with Mexico," U.S. Federation President Cindy Parlow Cone said in a statement.

"The hosting of the 2027 Women's World Cup offers us an incredible opportunity to close two historic years of football World Cup in the Concacaf [Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Football] region, helping us to continue to develop football within the associations of our confederation," added Cindy Parlow Cone.
