"The Chengdu Universiade will leave a very rich legacy, and I believe that China will ultimately be proud of this legacy."

In preparation for the Chengdu Universiade, Chengdu has built a number of top sports venues of international standards. The Universiade has a strong atmosphere and the "Park City" sets off a sports boom

On the evening of the 16th, a wonderful gymnastics competition landed in Chengdu Chunxi Road business district. At the 2023 China Gymnastics Elite Challenge (Chengdu) women's balance beam and men's parallel bars, difficult gymnastics movements were intertwined with gorgeous lighting and dynamic music, and Yang Wei, Deng Linlin, He Kexin, Huang Xu and many other Chinese gymnastics figures served as event commentators and judges, attracting the public to watch and take photos. Not long ago, the Tianfu Greenway Ring City Ecological Park Circle Race-Professional Competition was contested in Tianfu Greenway. The 100-kilometer-long greenway connects Chengdu's 133-square-kilometer eco-park, 20-square-kilometer-long ecological water system and 24-square-kilometer urban forest, attracting professional teams from seven countries, including China, Thailand, the Philippines, South Korea and Indonesia. In Chengdu, sports have become a new lifestyle style. Behind the continuous heating up of sports fashion, Chengdu has taken advantage of the opportunity of hosting the Universiade in recent years to give citizens a "sense of happiness" and "sense of gain" sports venues and sports consumption scenes.

As soon as I walked out of Dayuan Station of Chengdu Metro, the sound of clapping balls, shouts, and cheers poured in. At night, the basketball court in Chengdu Dayuan Central Park is as bright as day, and a high-level fierce confrontation and fancy dunk performance is staged every night, and hundreds of people watch and applaud. Because of the pure love of basketball and the high level of confrontation, this outdoor court is called the "East Single Stadium" of Chengdu by many people.

Walking on the shore of Xinglong Lake, you can often see racing boats breaking through the water and moving forward with the wind. Kayaks, paddle boards, OP sailing boats and even dragon boats and canoes together form a vivid picture of "long winds and waves will sometimes occur". This year, Chengdu Xinglong Lake was selected as the first batch of 15 pilot units of the National Water (Sea) National Leisure Sports Center, and water sports are in the ascendant in Chengdu.

Chengdu also actively promotes national fitness construction projects such as "Community Sports Corner" and "New Green Road Fitness Space", continuously optimizes the style of the neighborhood, promotes urban organic renewal, creates a "15-minute fitness circle", and hatches a scattered sports space carrier.

"Since the past few years, friends have gradually changed from 'off-duty mahjong' to 'off-duty sports'. I enjoy running, cycling, swimming, and trying new sports. By building a "world sports city", sports have become a major "selling point" of Chengdu's tourism. Not long ago, Huang Liping, general manager of sales of "i-world" travel agency in Malaysia, came to Chengdu to inspect the tourism market. After learning about Chengdu's sports resources, she said that in the future, she can organize Malaysian tourists to participate in Chengdu brand events such as marathons, organize tourists to ride Chengdu's "Tianfu Green Road" or hike in the mountains, and let tourists have a deep "connection" with Chengdu through sports. During this year's Chengdu Universiade, Huang Liping also plans to develop special tourism products around the Chengdu Universiade to attract Malaysian tourists to Chengdu to experience the "Universiade Journey".

"Welcome the Universiade and Build a Happy City Together" Youth Volunteer Service Theme Activity Season Demonstration Activity, "Welcome the Universiade, Get Active" China Family Bicycle Health Camp... Various Universiade-themed events are also emerging. Chengdu uses the event to create a better life in a "park city", improve the city's service capabilities, and bring more sense of gain, identity and happiness to citizens.

This is precisely the deep meaning of Chengdu's hosting of the Universiade: to carry out exchanges through sports, the "language of cross-border borders", to enhance mutual learning among civilizations and deepen friendship between people from different borders.
