Norwegian Football League rivals Bard Finney has grabbed the spotlight in the domestic tournament after a sportsmanship attitude.

Bran – Finney's team – was a guest of his counterpart Aud BK – on Sunday, April 16, for the second round of the Norwegian league.

By the 19th minute, Finney ran after a long pass from one of his teammates, but defender Sundry Johansen stopped playing due to a muscle injury.

From the video, it is clear that Finney could have completed the game and reached Aud's goal, and could end up with a goal for the visitors that puts him in front.

But Finney stopped play first, then took the ball off the pitch, to the applause of thousands of fans on the stands of the Odd Stadion.

Before that Johansen tried to catch the ball and Finney, but eventually gave up and fell to the ground.

The video went viral on social media, with more than 6 million viewers.

Unfortunately for Finney, his team lost the game 2-0, with Aud BK second in the table with 4 points, while Bran's side are sixth with 3 points.

Meanwhile, the British website "Give Me Sport" pointed out that such footage comes as an extension of other shots witnessed in the English league.

The most prominent footage – according to the site – when the Argentine Marcelo Bielsa, former Leeds coach, ordered his players to allow Aston Villa to score a goal, or the shot of Italian Paulo Di Canio when he grabbed the ball with his hand after a cross from one of his colleagues, after the fall of Paul Gerrard, Everton goalkeeper, on the ground injured.
