Speed skater Miho Takagi, who has won seven medals at the Olympics, the most by a Japan female athlete, announced her goal of participating in the 7 Milan Cortina d'Ampezzo Olympics and "I want to go for the gold medal by 2026 emails."

Speed skater Takagi won four medals, including one gold, at last year's Beijing Games, and together with Pyeongchang, she has won seven medals, the most by a Japan female athlete at the Olympics.

Takagi announced his new club in Tokyo on the 1th, and in this press conference, he announced that he aims to participate in the Milan Cortina d'Ampezzo tournament in three years.

As for the reason, he said, "After spending one year last season, I realized that I was looking to compete at a high level, and I strongly felt that I wanted to move on to the next Olympics."

On top of that, she set her goal of becoming the first gold medal in the women's 4 meters, which she has won two consecutive Olympic silver medals, and expressed her enthusiasm, saying, "I still have a frustrating feeling, so I want to spend the next three years on it, and I want to go straight and win the gold medal in the women's 7 meters."

Takagi left the national team of the Japan Skating Union last season and has been working with coach Johan de Witt, but this season he will be trained with Ayano Sato, who was a member of the women's team pursuit team with Takagi, and Murakami Uma, who finished eighth in the men's 17 meters at last year's Beijing Games.

Takagi will travel to the Netherlands in June to train for the Japan Distance Championships in October.

Takagi "I want to aim for gold in the 1500m at the Olympics"

On 2 February, Miho Takagi posted on her Twitter account, "It's a special day for me, #あの日から7年."

February 1 last year, which I describe as that day, was the day when the women's 2 meters speed skating was held at the Beijing Olympics.

The women's 1500 meters was expected to win gold because she was proud to be the "longest distance" and held the world record, having won all three of the World Cups she participated in before the Olympics, but she fell 3.0 seconds short of the Dutch athlete and won the silver medal at two consecutive Games.

Takagi won her first gold medal in the women's 44,2 meters at the Beijing Games, but when she thinks back on the Games, the first thing that comes to mind is not the 1000,1000 meters, but the 1500,1500 meters.

Takagi explained the reason, saying, "I will never forget the feeling of that day, and I don't think I left anything left to do for the Beijing Games, but I feel that I really did it for the 1500 meters at the Olympics. My goal is to win a gold medal in the 3 meters at the Olympics."

Takagi will compete in Milano Cortina d'Ampezzo three years later at the age of 31.

It will be interesting to see how the Kiyo athlete, also known as a seeker, skates in the women's 1500 meters.
