AIK had taken one Allsvenskan victory this year and were outplayed last against IFK Norrköping.

Then they came out as a completely different team against Hammarby in front of just over 40,000 spectators at Friends arena.

After just a minute or so, Rui Modesto had an art kick that Oliver Dovin saved in the post. AIK continued to press and had several half-chances and shots from outside, but Dovin resisted well.

Hammarby was not in the game at all in the first half and a few minutes before the half-time break AIK struck.

Bilal Hussein got a good shot from the right wing and the ball flowed straight through to Alexander Fesshaie who scored his first ever Allsvenskan goal.

"Fantastic, great feeling," he says in Discovery plus.

Just a few minutes into the second half, Fesshaie struck again.

Nathaniel Adjei was supposed to hit a long ball to fellow centre-back Kurtulus, but the pass was far too weak. Fesshaie twisted the ball, fingered by both the goalkeeper and Kurtulus, and scored his second goal.

The match was suspended twice

But the match would also be marked by boring scenes. After two fireworks had been fired, referee Glenn Nyberg broke the match for a safety meeting. The match continued a few minutes later but was then interrupted again after another firework was fired. Then you could hear what the judge thought about it in the broadcast.

"One more damn time, then we'll break," Nyberg says.

Hammarby never really got a final push and AIK won safely with 2-0 – their first point in Allsvenskan this year. Hammarby has not won in Allsvenskan at Friends arena since 2017. After the game, the goalscorer told us about his second goal.

"I knew Kurtulus was behind me and was going to come full speed, so I waited for him and shot fingering," Fesshaie says in Discovery plus and talks about what it's like to get the chance from the start:

"It's been quick and fun, I've had to take the chance now that players have been injured and it's gone well.
