Stavås Skistad ended the season in a convincing way, to say the least. She won the last five World Cup races (one before the World Cup and four after) and could not be stopped with the mighty sprint she showed in the sprints. In the four races that were run after the World Championships, world champion Jonna Sundling was second in all of them.

In connection with the end of the season, Skidstad sat down with the management of the Norwegian Ski Association and went through the arrangement.

"We had a good conversation and we all agree that this is the best solution for me next season. It is done in concert and it was not a bad atmosphere, says Skistad to VG.

– I also feel that it is the right and best choice for myself, says the Konnerud skier without wanting to elaborate further.

Have people who follow her closely

"This is primarily a choice that Kristine made entirely herself. The approach she has followed over the past year has worked very well. She has people who follow her closely many days a week, maybe that's something she couldn't get in the national team, says her advisor Per Ola Gasmann to NRK.

This past season, Frida Karlsson, Maja Dahlqvist and Linn Svahn had their own set-up and were left out of the Swedish national team.
