In the mid-00s, Hammarby was one of Sweden's best handball teams, and won three consecutive Swedish championships between 2006 and 2008.
But in the second half of the 10th century they lost a lot, and in 2019 they were eliminated from the Handball League.
After two years in Allsvenskan, however, they took the step up again in 2021, and now they are back in the semi-finals. Today they won 29–26 at home against Alingsås, and thus won the quarter-final series with 3–0 in games.
"Right now I'm just so damn happy and proud," Gustav Davidsson told C More.
"Tough possible resistance"
For Hammarby, Kristianstad (who today won their third straight game against Aranäs and secured the semi-final place) now awaits a repeat of the Svenska Cupen final, which Kristianstad won.
"Tough possible opposition, but we know that we had two games in the cup final that were odd-goal games. It will be fun to face them over five games and hopefully we can give them a good fight, says Davidsson.
