Major League Baseball pitcher Shintaro Fujinami of the Athletics started against the Rays and gave up five runs in five innings to take his second loss, giving up his first win in the big leagues.

Fujinami, who made his first major league start against the Angels on April 4, gave up eight runs in three innings and made his debut, started against the Rays in St. Petersburg on April 1.

Against the Rays, who have been in good form with seven straight wins without a loss since the start of the season, Fujinami showed a great start, holding a no-hitter until the third inning with a 3-kilogram fastball and a changeup ball such as a split.

However, in the fourth inning, when the batting order went around a circle, a foreball and his first hit caused a pinch hit at second and third base, and the No. 8 batter scored two runs in a timely manner.

In the next five innings, he lost control and loaded the bases with a dead ball and two foreballs, then got a timely two-run hit and walked off the mound with the fourth run.

The relief pitcher added one more run, so Fujinami pitched until the middle of the fifth inning and gave up five runs.

He had three hits, four foreballs, one dead ball and one strikeout.

The Athletics lost the game 1-5 to end a three-game losing streak, and Fujinami suffered his second loss.
