Frank Lampard returned to lead his parent club Chelsea in the remainder of the games of the current season, at a time when the management of the "Blues" to search for a new coach to take over this task to succeed the article Graham Potter.

The British newspaper "Daily Mail" believes that Chelsea fans are the biggest winner of this decision, which did not hide their happiness and hope at the same time that Lampard will help the "Blues" to end the season in the best possible way, by occupying fourth place in the Premier League and even crowning the Champions League.

Chelsea are currently 11th in the table with 39 points, and are 14 points away from fourth place, while they will face Real Madrid on April 12 and 18 in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the continental competition.

In the dressing rooms, there appears to be a split in the ranks between happy and frustrated by Lampard's return.

Winners:

Mason Mount

Mount has lost his place in Chelsea's starting line-up in recent months under Potter, but Lampard's return will be a lifeline for the England international, who is highly regarded by the new manager.

In Lampard's first spell, Mount was the centrepiece of Chelsea's midfield, and his impressive form opened the door to joining the England squad at the invitation of manager Gareth Southgate.

With Mount sitting on reserve, there have been rumours that he could leave next summer for Liverpool, but the situation will inevitably change with the arrival of Lampard.

Hakim Ziyash

The start of the season was shocking for the Moroccan star, who started nine games in which he scored a single goal, only to find himself on the bench, then completely left out of the list in the last 9 Premier League matches.

In fact, Potter's style of play is not so much on the wingers, unlike Lampard who recommended signing Ziyech from Ajax Amsterdam.

Although Lampard's return will be temporary, Ziyech will have a great chance of regaining his form in the remaining games of the season.

Ben Chilwell

Potter relied on a 3-4-3 formation, unlike Lampard who relies mainly on 4 players in the defensive line, with diversification in the rest of the lines, which means that the old new coach plays in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formation.

This style of play will return Ben Chilwell to his preferred position of left-back, and Lampard's favourite over fellow commuter Mark Cucurella.

Edward Mendy

The Senegalese goalkeeper may be the happiest with the return of Lampard, who insisted on signing a new goalkeeper after being impatient with the mistakes of Spaniard Kepa Arrizabalaga.

In the summer of 2020, Lampard asked the management of former owner Roman Abramovich to bring in a new goalkeeper to replace Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero, and that goalkeeper was Mendy.

Mendy has only made 11 appearances in all competitions this season and has been sidelined by injury, but has not regained his place after recovering.

Hope returned to the Senegalese international with the signing of Chelsea with Lampard, who "hates" Kepa, according to the "Daily Mail", a point that may be in favor of Mendy.

Christian Pulisic

The USA international's circumstances are similar to his team-mate Mendy, who has missed most of the season due to injury and has lost his ability to positively impact the team's results.

Pulisic produced his best form under Lampard, specifically in the 2019-2020 season, where he scored 11 goals and 10 assists, and finished that season in the list of candidates for the award for the best young player in the "Premier League".

With Chelsea in need of creativity and improvement in results, it will be great for Stamford Bridge fans to see Pulisic regain his shine with Lampard.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Lampard's return to the manager's seat at Stamford Bridge is a lifeline for the Gabonese striker, who Potter decided to freeze and then exclude from the team's European squad, with the aim of registering the arrivals in January 2023.

Because of Potter's decision, Aubameyang, who was close to leaving in the winter "Mercato" for Barcelona, decided to leave the club in the summer.

Aubameyang's situation was complicated by seeing him celebrate with his former Barcelona teammates their victory over Real Madrid in the La Liga Clasico.

The reality on the ground points to the London side's need for a goalscoring striker, qualities found in Gabonese who was Lampard's demand in his first spell, where the coach's request was rejected at the time, meaning the old new coach will be the kiss of life for Aubameyang's career.

Connor Gallagher and Robin Loftus-Cheek

Lampard is known to always prefer to rely on players from the club's academy, a decision that has benefited Mount, Tammy Abraham of Roma and Reece James.

Gallagher and Loftus-Cheek are counting on this point to get more minutes for the Blues.

Losers:

Mark Cucurella

The Spanish full-back was trusted by former manager Potter, with the "La Masia graduate" playing with him during their time at Brighton, but that has now changed in Ben Chilwell's favour.

Under Potter, Chelsea played with a trio of defenders, which favoured Cucurella at the expense of Ben Chilwell.

The "Daily Mail" confirms that if Lampard adheres to his usual way of playing with 4 defenders, Cucurella will be the biggest affected.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

The Spaniard is arguably the most frustrated at Chelsea with Frank Lampard's return.

But in fact, Kepa paid the price for his blunders that cost Chelsea many games, which angered Lampard, and he asked to sign Mendy.

"Kepa will only have to hope that Lampard won't be tough on him," but what could give Kepa more hope is that Mendy is just returning from a shoulder injury.

Joao Felix

It's not clear if the Portuguese on loan at Chelsea from Atletico Madrid will be beneficial to Lampard's plans, with if Lampard relies on Mount Felix won't be able to play the role of playmaker, so we could see the Portuguese on the wing.

He could also be relied on up front if Aubameyang remains on the bench, but the result is that Felix's options could narrow.

Kalidou Coulibaly

Lampard's first task will be to work on fixing the defensive lapses that have cost Chelsea so many goals and points this season.

Senegalese Kalidou Koulibaly could foot the bill for these reforms, and despite playing almost every of the team's matches, his lapses have also been significant.

The British newspaper confirms that the return of Thiago Silva from injury will put a lot of pressure on Koulibaly and the rest of his colleagues in the defensive line, but that will certainly delight the fans of the "Blues".
