Barcelona had a 1-0 win from the first semi-final at Real Madrid's home ground.

A walking victory at Camp Nou? Certainly not.

Just before the half-time break, Robert Lewandowski had a huge opportunity to decide. But the shot was saved by Thibaut Courtois and Real Madrid launched a lightning-fast counter-attack. Vinicius Junior found his way to Karim Benzema and the entire Barcelona defence threw themselves in front of the striker to stop the shot, but then the pass came back to Vinicius instead. The Brazilian put the ball in the goal.

Los Blancos went into the second half with the same energy. After just five minutes, Luka Modric pushed the ball forward and then passed a simple sideways pass to Benzema who only put in the 2-0 goal to scattered boos at Camp Nou.

Before the hour was played, it was time for the next situation for Real Madrid. Franck Kessie bumped very clumsily against Vinicius and it was a clear penalty after he brought down the winger. Benzema stepped up and scored his second goal of the evening.

First Real Madrid hat-trick since 1995

It would be Real Madrid's night and Benzema would complete his hat-trick.

With around ten minutes of regular time remaining, the Frenchman scored his third goal of the evening and became the first Real Madrid player to score a hat-trick in El Clasico since 1995. Then it said Ivan Zamorano on the hat-trick shirt.

There were no more goals and Benzema took Real Madrid to the final of the Copa del Rey.
