After losing his first three finals in the Challenger category, Luca Van Assche has now won the last three, including this Sunday's final in Sanremo, Italy. The Frenchman easily won against Juan Pablo Varillas, 88th in the world: 6-1, 6-3, after 1h30 of play.

Luca Van Assche, 18, won Sunday's Sanremo Challenger, Italy, a tournament in the second division of tennis, and will enter the top 100 of the ATP rankings on Monday. Van Assche, ranked 108th in the world, was already assured of entering the top 100 players in the world after qualifying for the final in which he dominated Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas (88th) in two sets (6-1, 6-3).

This second consecutive trophy won on the Challenger circuit, after his success in Pau at the beginning of March, should allow him to point to 91st place in the ranking on Monday. The winner of the Roland-Garros junior tournament in 2021 is the first Frenchman to enter the Top 100 before his 19th birthday since Gaël Monfils in 2005.
