After the exit in the World Cup qualifier against Poland last year, there was talk of change from the national team management.

The game system and tactics would be redesigned, among other things.

After the 3-0 loss to Belgium in the European Championship qualifiers on Friday, head coach Janne Andersson was asked what really happened to the change that should have happened.

"It's funny because a lot of people thought we needed to do something new and a lot of people thought we didn't need to do anything new. If you have this job, you can't listen to what everyone thinks because then it gets messy in your head," says Andersson.

It was mainly you and the players themselves who talked about the need to rethink?

- "Need" maybe I didn't say.

How convinced are you that your coaching philosophy and tactics are enough to achieve the goals you have set?

"I'm 100 per cent confident in my role, I have fantastic colleagues who run things in a great way. We do our absolute best. Then if it's enough to reach the European Championships I don't know today, we've played one of eight games. But I'm absolutely confident that we're doing good things," Andersson says.
