Especially when you consider that the scandalous and outrageous Vyacheslav Datsik was to enter the ring, for whom this fight was the first in 2023. In December, the Russian was supposed to hold three fights at once, but was forced to withdraw from the last of them - with Saulo Kavalari at the Hardcore Boxing tournament due to a complex finger fracture. Then he even had to undergo surgery. A few months later, he fully recovered. Moreover, the athlete, alternating fights according to the rules of boxing, fist fights and MMA, this time agreed to fight in kickboxing.
The opponent he got is as experienced as himself. Geronimo Dos Santos has 68 fights under his belt in mixed martial arts alone, 44 of which he has won. At the same time, he is well known to domestic fans, because in recent years he has performed, including in local promotions, and met with many eminent heavyweights. In particular, he managed to lose to Vitaly Minakov, Alexander Emelianenko and Sergey Kharitonov, and drew the confrontation with Ivan Shtyrkov.
In the case of Datsik, the opponents clearly showed themselves even at the battles of views. Only miraculously, the case did not end in a mass brawl. At the first, a few days before the fight, the Brazilian began to beat himself in the chest and scream in the face of the opponent. He did not remain in debt and threw him aside. On the second, Red Tarzan came with the skin of a bear on his back, while Mondragon painted his face in the colors of the Brazilian flag. Now the Russian began to growl at the guest. For a moment, the veterans shouted at each other and almost got into a melee, but held back. It is not surprising that Datsik after this promised to quickly end the fight.
"Did he lose to many Russians? I think I'll be no exception. I'll send him into a deep knockout. Like outside, I'll make wood out of it. A deafening hard knockout. And how else to win? I will try not to bring exactly to the decision of the judges, so that no one is robbed, "Datsik said in an interview with Match TV.
Looking ahead, Vyacheslav's words did not diverge from deeds. After such emotional skirmishes, it was expected that the ring would "sparkle". In fact, both fighters behaved extremely calmly and restrained. Stepping out onto the flooring, they greeted each other without aggression or shouting. Purely outwardly, Dos Santos looked more ready for the fight: firstly, unlike his opponent, he could boast of perfect muscles, and secondly, he was slightly higher, which gave some advantage.
In fact, all this did not play any role, and the Russian won another easy premature victory. Last year, he knocked out Alexander Emelianenko and Saulo Kavalari in the first minute, and this year he added another Brazilian to a kind of collection.
In fact, the fate of the confrontation was decided 13 seconds after it began. Mondragon tried to shoot first, but Datsik dodged and immediately sent a neat right hook to the jaw. Geronimo collapsed like a wreck, and Vyacheslav threw his arms up victoriously. It seemed that the opponent would not be able to continue. To the veteran's credit, he stood up, but it turned out that he seriously injured his shoulder during the fall.

"Pleasure comes and goes very quickly. Of course I got it. He threw his opponent off balance and quickly caught on the left. And then I didn't see it. Everything went according to plan. Everyone saw: the fight turned out to be good, though short. I apologize for that," Red Tarzan said.
He also admitted that in the future he intends to continue performing, including according to the rules of kickboxing, and expressed a desire to meet again with one of the greatest representatives of this species, Jerome Le Banner, whom he lost at the end of 2019 at the Fight World Cup TNA Fights tournament in Kazan.
Also in the plans remains a confrontation with Haji Avtomat, which was postponed indefinitely due to a serious injury to the hand of the latter. The athlete even appeared in the ring and jokingly offered to organize a fight on the right. The organizers immediately held a battle of views.
