It looked for a long time like Rögle would steal the fifth quarterfinal up in Skellefteå when they had a secure 2-0 lead before the third period. However, the home team got a way into the game when Rögle slopped in the powerplay and Albin Sundsvik was able to make it 1-2 and give Skellefteå weathering. With eight minutes left, Jonathan Pudas pushed the equaliser in behind an obscured Christoffer Rifalk in Rögle's goal.

In the long run, Skellefteå was the stronger team and when Joakim Lindström found Filip Sandberg at the far post, the game was over.

"A sauce session in the middle of the lip," Sandberg summed up the ruling.

Rögles coach Cam Abbott was dejected after the game:

"It's a tight game where small details decide, I would have liked to have seen us get a couple of expulsions with us.

Skellefteå now leads the quarterfinal series 3-2 and has the chance to decide on Sunday.

"It's really nice, incredibly strong to come back in third and ride the wave in fourth," Sandberg said.
