After the women's relay at the World Championships, which ended with a Swedish bronze, Frida Karlsson expressed dissatisfaction with the material. Then a conflict arose within the Swedish national team.

Valla manager Petter Myhlback responded by saying that it was not a vallamiss, and that he feels some irritation that sporting failures are blamed on the material.

However, the conflict was resolved during the ongoing championship, and Karlsson received an apology.

After the World Cup, the national team has been without Myhlback for several World Cup weekends. Only during the competitions at home in Falun (and in Drammen) has he been there. He is also not present during the World Cup final in Lahti.

Now he may have made his last effort as herding director. According to information to SVT Sport, Myhlback will have to leave the assignment, which he has had since the spring of 2020, after the season.

SVT Sport has been in contact with Petter Myhlback, who neither wants to confirm nor deny.

"We'll take and comment on it after the races in Lahti," he says.

So it's not something you want to confirm here and now?

–No.

National team manager Anders Byström says the following about the situation:

"I'm not commenting on that now, but we're going to take that after this weekend, and I'm in dialogue with both the coaches and the herding team about what it's going to look like for the coming season. Nothing is clear around that.

Is it a process that's going on, who's left for the upcoming season?

- Absolutely, it always is. Then of course many have contracts already, but then it's a matter of evaluating who wants to and can continue," he says, confirming that Myhlback has a contract that continues over next season.
