The rumor started bubbling up yesterday.

Silly journalist Fabrizio Romano went public with the information that Julian Nagelsmann would be fired as coach of Bayern Munich's men's team.

On Friday, the German was caught on camera when he had been summoned to a meeting with the club management, and an hour later it was clear – Nagelsmann was sacked.

"After the World Cup, we have played less successfully and less attractively. The big swings in performances have left doubts about our goals for this season, but also our goals for the future. That's why we've acted now," club chief executive Oliver Kahn said on the website.

The replacement was done right away, Thomas Tuchel, most recently at Chelsea.

Tuchel's contract extends until the end of June 2025.
