Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo, known as Sevilla sporting director Monchi, missed a valuable opportunity related to obtaining the services of Georgian Napoli star Khevisha Kvaratskhelia.

Kvaratskhelia has captured the hearts of Napoli fans with lightning speed, arriving in the south of Italy in the summer of 2022 from Dinamo Batumi for just €10 million.

She explained that the Georgian player was years ago on the radar of the Andalusian club, and then advanced the race to win the services of Kvaratskhelia over Levante and Valencia.

The deal would have cost Sevilla just €6 million, before Monchi finally stepped in and announced the matter was over.

The Georgian, now 22, is now a big star, on par with Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

Pablo Sejas, who is close to the player, said: "Kvaratskhelia is now worth 100 million euros, he can play for Real Madrid or Barcelona but I think he will end up in the Premier League."

Kvaratskhelia has made 30 appearances for Napoli in all competitions this season, scoring 14 goals and providing 16 assists.

Kvaratskhelia is now approaching the status of Argentine football legend Diego Armando Maradona in Napoli fans, even dubbing him "Kvaradona".

The player's market value is currently 85 million euros, according to data from the famous website "Transfermarkt".
