Premier League rivals Chelsea are considering terminating Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's contract a year before it ends.

The Blues signed Aubameyang during the 2022 summer transfer market, coming from Barcelona for about £10 million (11.3 million euros), as his contract runs until June 30, 2024.

The move comes to consider the termination of the contract after the appearance of Aubameyang (33 years) celebrating with his former teammates in Barcelona, winner of the "Clasico" Spanish league, over traditional rivals Real Madrid, according to the site "GiveMe Sport" (givemesport) British.

The site confirmed that Chelsea is more ready than ever to terminate Aubameyang's contract, after his actions in the Barcelona dressing room.

Aubameyang was present last Sunday in the stands of the Spotify Camp Nou stadium, in order to watch the Clásico up close.

After the match ended in a 2-1 win for Barcelona, Aubameyang was visibly ecstatic and walked into the changing room to celebrate with the players.

Not content with that, the Gabonese posted a picture of himself with Barcelona player Ferran Torres on his social media accounts, actions that angered the English club's officials.

For his part, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who specializes in player transfers, confirmed that Aubameyang still has a great relationship with the Barcelona players.

He pointed out that Aubameyang wanted to return to the "Catalan" team in the last winter transfer market, but FIFA regulations prevented this.

In the context, the newspaper "Sport" (Sport) Spanish that Aubameyang openly expressed his desire to return to Barcelona by attending the "Clasico" in the stadium, and then celebrating.

Aubameyang has expressed a willingness to cut his salary in order to facilitate the completion of the deal, but Barcelona's complicated financial situation could prevent this, according to Sport.

Barcelona must cut their players' salary bill by €200 million in order to be able to sign new players in the 2023-2024 season.

Since Aubameyang's arrival at Chelsea, he has made 19 appearances in all competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing his teammates with one assist.

Aubameyang lost the trust of his coach Graham Potter, who left him out of Chelsea's Champions League squad.
