Sundling snatched the final uphill climb and won the semifinals ahead of Skistad after a fast race. Maja Dahlqvist was suspended but came up with a quick sprint and finished fourth – one hundredth behind third place Tereza Beranova. The measly hundredth was costly for Dahlqvist because it stopped her from reaching the final.

Sundling won the qualifier ahead of Skistad. They then ended up in the first quarter-final where Sundling won after a powerful jolt in the final uphill battle ahead of Skistad who had to take in to hold off Katerina Janatova who was knocked out.

In the battle for the sprint cup, Nadine Fähndrich went out to Dahlqvist with only the final remaining in Lahti this weekend.

"I'll have to ride incredibly well next weekend if I'm going to win," Dahlqvist said.
