At the end of the first half, 19-year-old Salma Paralluelo fired an outside shot. She aimed well and the ball went in alongside Cameila Ceasar in the goal. Paralluelo was chosen as the match's runner-up by Uefa.

"Her runs and understanding of the game in and around the penalty area were outstanding. She was a threat all the time," Uefa writes of the Spaniard who has been a successful sprinter with a personal record in the 400 metres of 53.83 indoors as a 15-year-old which is Spanish U18 and U20 record

First Roma player with number 10 since Totti

Barcelona then had most of the game and chances but at the end the Roma players gave it their all and had a good push ahead of 39,454, a record for women's football in Italy, at the Olympic Stadium when for the first time a women's match in the Champions League was played in the classic stadium.

Manuela Giugliano is the first Roma player to use the number 10 at the Olympic Stadium since legend Francesco Totti did.

Roma's three Swedish players, Elin Landström, Alva Selerud and Stephanie Öhrström, all remained on the bench.

The return leg in Barcelona will be played on March 29.
