After a few heavy years in which Viktor Gyökeres spent time on the bench on loan at other clubs, things really loosened up last year. This season he has scored more goals than ever and is second in the Championships (second division in England) top scorers.

"It feels good as a striker to know that you can score in every game. Hope it lasts the season out," he said.

Have you ever been as good as you've been this season?

"No, I'm more complete as a player and I've gotten better at my weaknesses. It's important to be mentally strong and not relax just because you score a few goals.

"You always want to start"

When do you pass the stage of the national team from it being fun to be involved to actually wanting to start?

"As a footballer, you always want to start, but it's different in the national team compared to the club team. When you play for your country, the most important thing is that Sweden is doing well," says Gyökeres.
