Barcelona came close to winning the La Liga title after winning the Clásico against arch-rivals Real Madrid 2-1 on matchday 26 of the competition.

The first half ended in a 1-1 draw, as Real Madrid took the lead with a goal scored by Barcelona's Ronaldo Araujoa by mistake in his team's goal in the ninth minute, before Barcelona equalized with a goal scored by Sergi Roberto in the last minute of the original time of the first half.

In the second half, Franck Kessé scored Barcelona's second goal in the second minute of stoppage time.

With just 12 games to go, Barcelona took their tally to 68 points at the top of the standings, 12 points ahead of second-placed Real who stopped at 56 points.

The two teams will meet on the fifth of next April again in the second leg of the semifinals of the Copa del Rey, knowing that Barcelona won the first leg with a clean goal.
