After the victory in the first meeting, Färjestad got off to a good start in the second quarter-final against Frölunda. Marcus Nilsson gave the away team the lead 1–0, and Färjestad maintained the lead into the first period break.
Once in the second period, however, Frölunda would come back. Jere Innala sent in 1–1 on the powerplay, and barely ten minutes later Loui Eriksson scored 2–1.
With less than ten minutes left to play in the third period, however, it was equalized again, when Färjestad made it 2–2 through Joel Nystrom.
Despite this, Frölunda had the last word. Loui Eriksson was the two-goal scorer when he made it 3–2, which was also the final score.
Thus, it stands 1–1 in the match series between Frölunda and Färjestad.
