The ball was played in to Isak who came a little obliquely but adjusted his leg and pulled the ball in via the far post. It looked like the hit came way down the shin.
After just over ten minutes, Isak was standing in a complementary wall when Newcastle had a free-kick. The ball was cleverly passed forward by Kieran Trippier to Isak who got on a good finish. Nottingham's Renan Lodi happened to pull the ball into his own bar but was lucky and goalkeeper Keylor Navas was able to take care of the ball.
Nottingham took the lead in the middle of the first half. Newcastle's Sven Botman played the ball back to his own goalkeeper without discovering Emmanuel Dennis was lurking in the area and intercepted the ball, putting in a 1-0 to Dutchman Botman's great disappointment.
