Norwegian cross-country star Ingvild Flugstad Östberg opened up on Norwegian TV about the eating disorder that kept her off the ski trails. Now she talks about the reactions afterwards.

"It's been very nice, it's been exclusively positive what I've received and a lot of people who might think it's great that I can talk about such a difficult and personal topic, so I value it very highly that people say and think so.

"You're a little tense when you do interviews like that and you open up like that, it's very nice to hear," she says.

Want to help others

Now the star wants to be helpful to others in the same situation.

"Eating disorders can be anything from someone who fights for life in hospital to an elite athlete like me who doesn't do it well enough to start, there's a huge difference between the two things and at the same time I think there are a lot more people than we know who toil a little with thoughts about food and themselves. You can help each other.
