    After inspecting the track ahead of a super-G race in December, three-time Olympic champion Matthias Mayer unexpectedly announced he was ending his career with immediate effect.


  • Jonna Luthman, 24, Sweden
    Luthman made her World Cup debut in 2019 and has a 30th-place finish in the downhill in Crans Montana as the best finish. In total, there were ten World Cup starts.


  • Meta Hrovat, 24, Slovenia
    Hrovat ended his career when the season began in October. The Slovenian, who had taken four podiums in the World Cup, had lost motivation.

Skicross

  • Alexandra Edebo, 26, Sweden
    Repeated concussions put an end to Alexandra Edebo in October. The Swede made his World Cup debut in 2017. In total, there were three podiums – a third place, a second place and a victory. She also participated at the 2021 World Championships and the 2022 Olympics.

Freeski

  • Jennie-Lee Burmansson, 20, Sweden Burmansson became Sweden's
    youngest winter athlete in a 2018 Olympics. But even as a 20-year-old, the freeskier ended his career in November.
