Jens Cajuste has been an obvious part of the Swedish men's national team during several gatherings. The midfielder plays everyday in Ligue 1 in France where he last Sunday played about 30 minutes in the league game against Monaco for his Reims.

But ahead of the European Championship qualifiers, which will be played in just over a week's time, head coach Janne Andersson has chosen other options in midfield. A poke of Cajuste simply.

"Jens was really in the conversation, but I can't take out as many as I want. It's great that he has played for a long period, there are not many 90-minuteers, says Janne Andersson and continues:

"Jens has great potential, this time he is just left out. I chose the others. He's done well but I've valued that the others are a better fit for this collection right now.

SVT expert: "Went rubbing my eyes"

SVT expert Daniel Nannskog disagrees with the head coach.

"I had to rub my eyes. Have I missed something? Is it an injury? But it wasn't. Janne thought there were other players who are better at that position, I'm not entirely sure. There is something very special in Jens Cajuste that does well in France. I question that a little bit," says Nannskog.

Sweden begins the qualifiers with double home games, against Belgium on March 24 and against Azerbaijan three days later.
