Since the SHL introduced round of 16 games in the 2013/14 season, the team that won the first match has always progressed to the quarterfinals.
Until now.
Leksand won the first match against Rögle in Ängelholm last Saturday and had 1-0 in matches before the match series turned to Dalarna.
Rögle won yesterday with 3-2 and they also won today - with 4-2.
Thus, the Skåne are the first in the league's history to turn a deficit into victory and advance to the quarter-finals.
- I enjoy these matches.
It's the most fun time of the season.
We play a great match today, says Rögle's goalkeeper Christoffer Rifalk in C More.
Leksand has a dismal playoff result to say the least.
The Dala club has not won a playoff series in 26 years, 1997 was the last.
- Right now I feel nothing more than bitterness and emptiness.
The second period is miserable.
We're losing our positions and it looks pretty damn good.
It's a failure, it's piss bad, says Leksand's coach Björn Hellkvist in C More.
