Chelsea remains one of the major players in the transfer market.

The London club invested heavily in the era of the new owner, Todd Bohli, through huge contracts.

But he struggled to sell players in the winter market, and this will inevitably force the club to sell players this summer.

And according to what was reported by the newspaper "The Athletic", the "Blues" could sell more than 12 players next summer.

A number of players may end up leaving Stamford Bridge and some major clubs are considering taking steps.

Manchester City is interested in full-back Ben Chilwell and is also watching Mason Mount, who is wanted by Manchester United and Liverpool.

Pulisic's future is in the wind

Two former LaLiga stars Mateo Kovacic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are on the list, along with US international Christian Pulisic and midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The Croatian Kovacic, who gave the captaincy in the past two matches, will be one of the most prominent departures from the team and will be on the radar of a number of clubs.

This summer may be the time for Pulisic to go and recover elsewhere after a frustrating spell with Chelsea due to injuries and a lack of form.

He has previously been linked with other Premier League teams, including Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Team captain Cesar Azpilicueta, who was about to leave for Barcelona last summer, may be on the list of departed, in addition to Connor Gallagher and Hakim Ziyech.

According to the "Athletic", Chelsea is ready to sell players who have recently arrived to strengthen the club's offensive line, namely Kai Havertz and Raheem Sterling.

The latter is struggling to make the expected impact at Stamford Bridge, although his agent says he wants to stay at the club.

More than 600 million euros in spending

Under Bohli, Chelsea spent up to 611 million euros.

And that serious investment in a large number of players now dictates these future sales.

The American businessman Buhli signed a contract with coach Graham Potter as a replacement for the German Thomas Tuchel, and the most prominent members of the team are:

  • Enzo Fernandez (121 million euros).

  • Wesley Fofana (80 million euros).

  • Mykhailo Modric (70 million euros).

  • Marc Cucurella (65 million euros).

This investment did not translate into immediate results either, as Chelsea reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League with difficulty, and occupies tenth place in the English Premier League, 5 points behind Liverpool, who occupies sixth place.
