Mikaela Shiffrin was superior in the first run of the day, and she was 58 hundredths faster than runner-up Valerie Grenier in the giant slalom event.

In the second round, Shiffrin did what it took to secure her 86th career World Cup victory.

The American was 64 hundredths faster than the runner-up Federica Brignone, and Sara Hector was finally third.

The Swede was 92 hundredths behind Shiffrin.

With today's victory, Shiffrin has tied Ingemark Stenmark's record for number of VC victories.

Shiffrin took her first World Cup victory in slalom when she was 17 years old.
