- The Vasaloppet is not only sport at the highest level, but also history, culture, exercise and health, a cornerstone of SVT's sports offering.

We look forward to continuing to develop this tradition-rich television classic and take the Vasaloppet into the future, not least with audience interaction and extra material in SVT Play in addition to the main broadcast itself, says SVT:stf sports manager Max Bursell.

- The Vasaloppet is everyone's sports classic - a joint experience of the finest kind.

The final of the Vasalopps week, starting in Sälen and finishing in Mora, is followed by a pajama-clad audience of millions for breakfast.

A strong SVT tradition that I am happy to be able to offer as company on the first Sunday in March for another five years, says SVT CEO Hanna Stjärne.

SVT has broadcast the Vasaloppet since 1966 and the race is one of Sweden's most popular sporting events for both viewers and athletes.

In recent years, between three and four million viewers have followed the elite and exercise skiers during the 90 kilometers from Berga by in Sälen to the finish in Mora, and the commitment of the audience is great.

- For us, it feels very fun and inspiring to be able to tell you on a day like this that the Vasaloppet, in its role as an exercise inspirer, will continue to reach Swedish television viewers until 2028. That Cykelvasan 90 is now also included in the annual television broadcasts is of course extra gratifying.

Now the TV audience can load up for the Vasaloppet breakfast at home on the sofa both summer and winter, says Johan Eriksson, CEO of Vasaloppet.
