On Saturday morning in the Ataköy Arena, Istanbul, 23-year-old Henrik Larsson ran first across the finish line in his qualifying heat of 60 meters.

The time of 6.62 was a hundredth faster than the Estonian Karl Erik Nazarov.

- It felt perfectly fine.

I was up very early today, I wasn't feeling super alert.

It is clearly approved to be a trial, says Henrik Larsson to SVT Sport after the successful trial heat.

What do you say about the time?

- It is on a par with what I have done in the first few competitions this year.

So it's a good time.

But I felt it was tough from start to finish.

I know I will be much more alert this afternoon.

Earlier this year, Henrik Larsson set a Swedish record for 60 meters with a time of 6.56.

The semi-finals in the EC will be decided at 16:40, Swedish time.
