[Explanation] "Sichuan Airlines Panda Road" Cup 2023 The 22nd China Go Southwest Chess Championship will be held in Chengdu on March 4th. 16 players including 8 world champions including Gu Li, Ke Jie, and Dang Yifei Fighting for the title of the new "Southwest Chess King" in Du Fu's Thatched Cottage.

This year's competition adopts a single-elimination elimination system, and each hand moves for 30 seconds. The ranking will be determined through four rounds of competition over two days.

In the first round of the competition, chess player Ke Jie and Li Xuanhao, who is currently No. 1 in the Chinese Go rating list, "met on a narrow road".

Ke Jie had previously ranked first in the Chinese Go rating list for 86 months, and it was Li Xuanhao who ended Ke Jie's "dominance".

Many chess fans are very concerned about the confrontation between the "first player" and the "second player" after the announcement of the latest ranking of Chinese Go.

After a fierce battle, Ke Jie finally defeated Li Xuanhao.

I don't think the "first person" and "second person" actually have much to do with each other, so I think neither of us should pay that much attention to the grade (high) or low.

Today's chess is also a bit regrettable. I had a big advantage in the middle, and then I didn't play a few moves well, and then I was reversed.

I should be considered an older chess player, so I think I hope that young chess players can step up and continue to work harder.

[Explanation] As China's first "post-00s" Go world champion, Ding Hao was unfortunately out of the game against another young player Liao Yuanhe.

Ding Hao said that in the future, he will accumulate and learn in more competitions.

Today I feel that (playing) chess is really a bit out of shape. I just played a chess shape that I haven’t studied much before, and then it took a relatively short time anyway, and then I couldn’t think clearly. I was very passive at the beginning. When it gets hot, I feel that I have entered the state, but in the end it is a "spoon". If you think about it, the result of this game may be different.

As far as accumulating some rapid chess experience, I have never been very good at the relatively short game system, and then I feel that I really need to play more such games to hone myself.

[Explanation] The veteran Gu Li, who participated in the 22nd China Southwest Chess Championship and is known as the "Eight Champions", also participated in the competition this time, but lost to his opponent in the first round and conceded.

Gu Li said that the future development of Go should strengthen the cultivation of young people, and as a veteran, he is also working hard to promote Go.

Because we think that being able to participate in the Go project, whether it is a child who is (taking) a professional path, or for example, developing intelligence, for the training of logical thinking ability, I think it is very beneficial. As a veteran, as a veteran Hand, the more obligation now is to promote Go more, and then let more people know about us (Go).

[Explanation] Lin Jianchao, chairman of the Chinese Go Association, said that Chinese Go is struggling on the road of development. What is gratifying in this process is the emergence of young players, especially the "post-05" players who have appeared in major competitions Among them, it proves that there are successors to Chinese Go.

[Concurrent] Lin Jianchao, Chairman of the Chinese Weiqi Association

The younger generation of chess players began to emerge. Not only have they become the stars that everyone pays attention to, but some have become world champions, and some have become the leaders of Chinese Go. This is a very good thing.

This change has attracted great attention not only in China, East Asia, South Korea, Japan, but also in the world of Go. This shows that Chinese Go has a successor, a solid foundation, and a promising future.
