Berghult and her team have searched with candle and lantern for a famous opponent, but that really big match they were looking for has not been found.

Instead, it was the 47-year-old Argentine Maria Elena Maderna who stood up for the opposition - six rounds in the welterweight category at Saturday's boxing gala in Örebro.

Admittedly a former world champion with more than twice as many pro fights as Berghult, but still a boxer whose best-before date has passed.

And it showed.

Berghult went on the offensive immediately and set a high pace that made Maderna unable to keep up.

The Scanian scored several clean hits and after two rounds where the 28-year-old outclassed her opponent, the Argentinian chose to throw in the towel and say goodbye.

She referred to the boxes colliding twice.

- I think she could have continued, but deep down she didn't want to.

I felt the scalps too, and as I told the judges, I hit with some pretty good left hooks as well, says Berghult to Nerikes Allehanda right after the win.

"Hope for something big"

Patricia Berghult's new match result reads 16-1.

Her only career loss came in Liverpool last September when she put her world title on the line against another world champion in the form of Britain's Natasha Jones who then won on points to leave with two super welterweight belts.

Now Berghult hopes for new title matches in the future.

- I hope for at least one more match this year and that it will be something big.

This was an in-between fight because I haven't boxed in six months, but now I'm going home and working on to be even better for the next title fight.
