35-year-old Astrid Öyre Slind won bronze in her WC debut and gold with the Norwegian relay team.

Now she is pitted against the Swedish riders in the prestigious distance of 30 kilometers classic.

- I think Sweden has very good chances above all through Ebba Andersson and Frida Karlsson.

But they will be toughly challenged by both Kerttu Niskanen and long-distance skier Slind, says Fredriksson.

Slind is also the reigning winner in the Vasaloppet and will go straight to Sälen after the WC three-mile to try to defend her title.

And as for Frida Karlsson, do you think she has had time to recover after the relay?

- I hope it was then only every five kilometres.

But historically, she has had difficulty keeping her energy up all the time.

But I think she will have had time to fill up those depots, says Fredriksson.

They are used to driving together, what kind of tactics do you want to see from Ebba and Frida in the race?

- I think they should be quite offensive, maybe not right from the start but the last 15 kilometres.

They are so strong.
