What is the Indy 500:

The biggest race you can win in Indycar, and one of the world's most classic and prestigious motor races.

First race was run in 1911. Decided over 200 laps on the oval track in Indianapolis.

The winner gets double points for the championship, but does not celebrate with champagne but with milk according to tradition.

Kenny Bräck became the first Swede to win the race in 1999, and Marcus Ericsson is the reigning winner after winning in 2022.

Reigning Indycar Champions:

American Will Power claimed his second title when he secured victory at Laguna Seca in California.

For Sweden, Marcus Ericsson finished sixth overall and Felix Rosenqvist eighth.

Three questions for the SVT expert:

What is the key for Marcus Ericsson to win the Indycar title in 2023?

- He has good self-confidence.

The tests have worked well.

What has been the worst is the qualifiers.

He needs to get better at that.

You can't qualify on average like eleven and twelve.

It must be a figure of six or seven on average.

Then he has a great chance to win the championship, says SVT's racing expert Fredrik Ekblom.

Does Felix Rosenqvist have the right conditions to challenge for the title?

- Is the super talent who has won in all the series he has driven.

But only has one Indycar win in four seasons, which is a bit of a bummer.

Has a hard-working team behind it.

They bring in an extra car in Alexander Rossi.

There will be killer competition, but I think that will do Felix good.

Who will be the exclamation point of the year in Indycar 2023?

- Danish Christian Lundgaard.

He has been drilled since childhood to become a racing driver.

They moved to Italy when they were driving go-karts to focus solely on racing.

He has won a lot in the smaller classes and was Indycar rookie of the year last year.
