For six seconds and 42 hundredths, Sulek held the world record (5014 points) before Thiam took it over (5055 points).

Bianca Salming, who finished 11th overall in the competition with 4191 points, pays tribute to her record opponents afterwards.

- That was unbelievable.

I didn't think it would be a world record.

I know Sulek runs well in the 800m so it was exciting to see if she would take on Thiam.

And it feels good to be part of a world record, it's not often you get that, she says.

What do you say about Thiam as an all-rounder?

- Thiam is something completely different, she cannot be compared to anyone.

She is different.

She is so calm, you never see her standing around shouting or anything.

She is kind of like an alien, says Bianca Samling.
