Five-time world champion, last Sunday, thanks to her double on the parallel moguls after the singles, the skier Perrine Laffont shared her joy in the program "Europe 1 Sport".

The Frenchwoman managed to put her doubts aside to become the most successful mogul skier in history.

The French skier Perrine Laffont won her fifth world title on the moguls, Sunday in Bakuriani in Georgia, by winning in parallel the day after her coronation in singles.

At 24, she became the first mogul skier to win five world titles, one more than Canadian references Jennifer Heil and Norwegian Kari Traa, gold four times each.

Invited to

(every evening from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.), Perrine Laffont is just beginning to realize the extent of her feat.

"At the time, I didn't really measure what was going on and I hadn't even calculated that it would be me who would have the most titles in women's mogul skiing," said Perrine Laffont.

It is only when she returns to France that the skier becomes "aware of everything that has happened".

Seeing the enthusiasm "on the networks, I tell myself that yes, it was something this weekend", rejoiced the five-time world champion in

A retained title

With this victory in the singles event, Perrine Laffont has thus managed to retain her 2021 title. "It's a relief. I've been looking for myself a bit since the start of the season. Worlds. This title is incredible," said the mogul skier.

After the titles of 2017, 2019, 2021 and then therefore, these two victories at the Worlds of Bakuriani, she erases the previous failures including her fourth place at the Winter Olympics in Beijing in 2022: "It was a big disappointment for me because because I had prepared a lot”, confessed Perrine Laffont.

But the Frenchwoman with a steely mind quickly bounced back.

For the one who trains “eight hours a day over five days of the week”, the investment ended up paying off again.

For the native of Lavelanet in Ariège, "it's a personal investment that is very intense, very important all the time."

Perrine Laffont is now turned towards her next big deadline: the Milan Olympics in 2026. She will then be 27 years old.

"It will be a good age when I think I will still be at peak physical and mental fitness," enthused the skier who will then hope to win her second Olympic medal.
