At the opening ceremony of Senbatsu High School Baseball held at Koshien Stadium this month, for the first time in four years, all the players from the participating schools will march around the stadium.

The Senbatsu High School Baseball Tournament was canceled three years ago due to the influence of the new coronavirus, and last year, the scale of the opening ceremony was reduced as a countermeasure against infection, and only the players from the six schools participating on the first day of the tournament were outfield. Only marched into the infield.

On the 1st, the Japan High School Baseball Federation and others opened a management committee for the tournament that will open on the 18th of this month in Osaka City, and at the opening ceremony, all the players from the participating schools will march around the venue. I checked again.

It will be the first time in 4 years that the entrance march will be held in this format since the summer of 2019 throughout the spring and summer.

In addition, at the steering committee on the 1st, it was newly approved that the female club members will serve as knockers in the defensive practice just before the game.

From a safety point of view, activities are limited to those who are usually involved in practice in the same way.

In this tournament, Joto High School in Tokushima, which will participate in the 21st century frame, wants a female member to serve as a knocker.

The opening ceremony entrance march of the corona misfortune

Since the spread of the new coronavirus, the opening ceremony of the national high school baseball tournament held at Koshien Stadium has been reduced in scale, such as by limiting the number of participating players.

Three years ago, in 2020, all spring and summer tournaments were canceled, and 32 schools that had decided to participate in the Senbatsu in August were invited to a one-match exchange match.

At the opening ceremony of the exchange match, only the players from the two schools participating in the first match were lined up on the ground, and the other participating schools were introduced by projecting a group photo on the vision of the stadium.

At the Ototoshi no Senbatsu, which was the first national tournament after the spread of the infection, only 6 schools with matches on the first day marched from the outfield to the infield, and the remaining 26 schools were held in advance on the school grounds in the vision. The video of the taken march was projected.

In the following summer, all the players from 49 representative schools participated in the national high school baseball, but the march was only from the outfield to the infield, just like the Senbatsu this year.

In addition, last year's senbatsu march was the same as the previous year, with only the six schools having games on the first day walking from the outfield to the infield.

Last summer's National High School Baseball Tournament was originally planned to have all the players from the representative schools march around the stadium for the first time in three years, and a rehearsal was held the day before the opening ceremony.

However, pre-match PCR tests revealed that multiple teams were infected with the new coronavirus, and many players should avoid staying in the same place. It was quickly changed to a format in which only the captain marches in.

At the opening ceremony of the national high school baseball tournament held at Koshien, if all the players of the participating teams march around the stadium as usual, it will be the first time since the summer of 2019 throughout the spring and summer, and the Senbatsu will be four years. It will be the first time.
