Striker Ola Toivonen ended his playing career at the beginning of November last year in connection with MFF's home match against the 36-year-old's parent club Degerfors.

Barely four months later, he is back as leader and will assist sporting director Daniel Andersson.

Toivonen will also have the role of attack coach in the men's team.

"With his player experience, Ola will strengthen us in terms of knowledge right from the start, while in this way he will have time to get into another part of football.

That we can use Ola's player experience in parallel with this in direct connection to the A team feels like an ultimate solution", says Daniel Andersson to the club's website.

In addition to two stays in MFF and games with Degerfors, Toivonen has represented Örgryte, PSV Eindhoven, Rennes, Sunderland, Toulouse and Melbourne Victory.

In the A national team, there were 64 international matches and 14 goals with games in, for example, the WC in Russia 2018.

The poked sports director Andreas Georgson remains in MFF, but is now technical director.
