Last Saturday, HV71 took an away victory after extra time in the derby against Linköping, but despite that slipped down to the qualifying spot.

And tonight they took another lead-heavy victory.

Joonas Nättinen, who had not scored since October 27, found a gap behind Rögle's goalkeeper and put the lead goal for HV71 after fifteen minutes.

- It feels wonderful.

This season has been a struggle, both for the team and individually.

All the goals give me more confidence, says Nättinen after the first period to C More.

The home team needed just nine seconds in the five-on-four game to extend the lead.

Radan Lenc found Andy Miele who easily put the puck into the open goal and 2-0.

Put the nail in the coffin

Rögle then came back when Michael Kapla reduced in the second period.

Just before the end of the second period, however, HV's Taylor Matson added an extension, and a little into the third period, Kalle Maalahti made it 4-1.

In the third period, Matson incurred a match penalty for a cross-checking on Samuel Jonsson.

After that, Rögle put a lot of pressure on HV and put a reduction to 4-2.

With barely two minutes left in the game, Kalle Maalahti, who scored his first goal for the team, put the nail in the coffin and made the final score 5-1.

- It feels good to score, but it feels best when we win.

It was a big win for us.

I think we will win our last four games, Maahlati told C More after the game.

The victory means that HV71 steps up from qualifying place to twelfth place.
